JustTigerLillies - All Tiger Lillies video, all in one place

Still wondering if this is the best place to put this... As good a place as any I suppose...

Hey there guys! As some of you know, I started an unofficial, Tiger Lillies themed Youtube channel awhile ago called JustTigerLillies, in an attempt to keep track of aaaaaall the crazy Tiger Lillies footage lurking around on Youtube, as well as to have a place to dump interesting videos that myself and others find elsewhere. I'm proud to announce that this channel is now more formally apart of the forum, and is now not only run by myself, but also by our wonderful moderators Shockheaded Jen and Wellington as well!

The channel still has a long way to go, and at the moment there are only 3 videos up, but a lot more will be added soon. In the mean time, please check out our 'favorites' section, which is an archive of sorts, for all the Tiger Lillies videos currently on Youtube... 361 videos now, and counting! These videos range from everything to official, pro shot promos and DVD clips, to crazy Sing-Alongs recorded by drunk fans! Laughing

To help further organize that section, I also just set up 2 'Playlist' for the channel. One elusively consists of 'Official' Tiger Lillies videos, (Clips from the DVD's, Promos, TV show appearance, and so on.):

Hopefully these playlists will help to make it simpler to find your favorite Tiger Lillies videos on Youtube, as well as to provide a convenient way for new fans to quickly acquaint themselves with what's out there.

Hope you guys enjoy what we've got going so far, I'm really happy to see the channel grow - initially it was created for entirely selfish reasons... But now I hope it will help us all to keep better track of all this great footage. in all honesty it was hilariously easy to put together, so I hardly think I'm deserving of much praise if any, hahaha. It was all right there already on Youtube... Just needed to be sorted out. I had meant to start uploading more vids yesterday, but it may have to wait till Monday now... Some of it will be stuff most of you have already seen, but there may be some surprises as well, we shall see... I was thinking about alerting in this thread when something new is added to the uploads, (Not the 'favorites') since those won't be daily at all... Sound like a good plan?

Just uploaded some new stuff to the channel, both are from the 2001 appearance of The Tiger Lillies on "Later With Jools Holland", on which they famously preformed the song Bully Boys..... Before you roll your eyes, let me explain! I know full well that this is probably the most seen Tiger Lillies video ever, but the one I just uploaded is somewhat better quality than the one found elsewhere on Youtube, (You'll notice the totally different watermarks as well, this one being from Ovation TV.) is slightly longer, and has Jools original introduction to the band, and his brief words afterwards.... And aside from all that, you really never can have to much of the Bully Boys video, can you?! It's phenomenal, and thought it would be cool if JustTigerLillies had it's own somewhat unique version of it!

This performance was originally apart of a 2001 episode of "Later With Jools Holland". The Tiger Lillies preformed only one song, Bully Boys, from their Junk Opera, Shockheaded Peter. The other bands that appeared in this episode were James, Matthew Jay, Kate Rusby, Buju Banton, Rodney Crowell and several more.

The Tiger Lillies actually do show up in several other parts of the episode, but most of those sequences are so brief, that they only edited down to a few seconds. They first show up at the very beginning of the show, playing along with all the other bands present that day... From this screen shot below, I think you can get a good sense of just how fast that camera was panning across everyone.... This blurry as shot was basically the best I could do! Laughing

For pure shits and giggles, I did go ahead and upload one of these tiny clips from the episode as well - it's the bands first introduction on the show... It's under 20 seconds, so nothing earth shattering! But still fun just to have up I guess. Here is a screen shot from that:

No idea how they found the channel, or why they would want to write anything about it, but it's certainly nice that they decided to! They also linked back to here, so thats nice to. I know nothing about this Metafilter site - has anyone else here ever used it before? I tried to make an account after I saw this, but it costs $5 bucks to do so, and despite what a small amount that is, I'm kind of not into throwing the doe around these days.. Meh. So anyway, just thought this was slightly cool, and wanted to mention it!

Oh and while I'm here, JTL finally hit that oh so special Youtube milestone of 100 subscribers a week or so ago... Yay! I run 3 or 4 other channels on Youtube, and I always get extremely excited when they hit this particular number... Sad, I know Laughing

Anyway, thanks to everyone that helped the channel reach 100! I should be adding a bunch of new stuff next month Wink
